About Us
We are lay Catholic members of the international Order of Preachers (abbreviated as O.P.) often known as the Dominicans after our founder, St. Dominic Guzman.
We are a Dominican Laity chapter in formation in Carmel, Indiana. We began meeting in February of 2011 on the campus of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and School. With members at various stages in their own discernment, we are in the process of becoming a new and active chapter as well as one of the few chapters of the Dominican Laity in the state of Indiana.
As we are a growing chapter, we ask your prayers for our group, all of its members, current and future, and its spiritual advisors, the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia from Nashville, TN. We ask for the intercession of St. Dominic, and our chapter patroness, St. Catherine of Siena, as well as all Dominican saints and blesseds. We pray that we may always strive to serve Jesus Christ within our vocations and through our calling to the Dominican Order.
If you feel God might be calling you to to a deeper commitment in your faith, we would invite you to learn more about how the Dominican way can help you become the saint God wants you to be!
May God bless you.
